Who we are. Our website address is: https://www.machineering.com.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Contact form, appointment booking & Potential Calculator
If you send us enquiries via the contact form or register for an event of the machineering academy, the details you provide in the enquiry form, including the contact data you enter there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent.
For registration, sign-up or if you request information material from us, we collect the following information:
- salutation, first name, surname,
- a valid e-mail address,
- name and address of the company or name of the company
- country
- phone number (landline and/or mobile)
This data is collected:
- to identify you as an event participant / prospect / customer / supplier / partner,
- for correspondence with you,
- for invoicing.
The data is processed at your request and, pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR, is necessary for the stated purposes, for the proper handling of orders and for the mutual fulfilment of obligations. The personal data collected by us for the engagement is stored until expiry of the statutory retention obligation (5 years after acceptance of the products and services) and then deleted, unless we are obliged to store it for a longer period pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. c GDPR due to retention and documentation obligations under tax and commercial law (HGB, StGB), or you have consented to storage beyond this pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
Online appointment booking and Potential Calculator
For online appointment booking we process the requested date as well as your name, e-mail address, company (if provided) and your message in order to reserve, confirm and hold the appointment (Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR). In the Potential Calculator, your answers and the calculated result are evaluated exclusively locally in your browser; nothing is transmitted to us until you actively leave your contact details and request the personal evaluation (Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a and b GDPR). In both cases you will receive a confirmation or evaluation e-mail at the address you provided.
Processors used
For the technical provision of appointment booking, contact form and Potential Calculator we use the hosting platform Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA) with its serverless functions and the database Neon (Neon Inc., USA) with data storage in the EU (Frankfurt am Main region). For sending the confirmation and evaluation e-mails we use the European service Lettermint (Netherlands), which processes e-mails exclusively on infrastructure within the EU. Data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place with all providers; where a provider is based in the USA, transfers are governed by the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45, 46 GDPR). Only the form data mentioned above is processed; it is not used for advertising purposes or passed on to third parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. For this and any further questions about personal data, you can contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: automattic.com/privacy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
